MARRIAGE: Various trees show him married 9 Aug 1608 to Elizabeth Haughton and then married 25 Aug 1616 to Cecily Ringway/Rigsways. Most show Elizabeth Haughton as son Abraham (Lawrence) Taylor's mother though. Possible answer is that 9 Aug 1608 is Elizabeth Haughton's birth date and not the marriage date. This would have made Lawrence Taylor about 48-58 years old and Elizabeth Haughton about 22-32 years old at the time of Abraham's birth between 1630-1640. This would mean that Cecily was his first wife (m. 25 Aug 1616) and Elizabeth his second wife (m. abt 1629 as listed on some trees). He married (1) Elizabeth Haughton, b. 1588 in Cheshire, England, d. in Cheshire, England. He married (2) Cecily Rigways. (1) Abraham Lawrence Taylor Sr title: Sr, (son of Lawrence Taylor and Elizabeth Haughton) b. 1630 in England (It seems that he was an indentured servant who worked off his transportation into this country and established himself. The heraldry of the Taylors tells us that the progenerator of all Taylors (English) was Hangor Taylor (1256) descendant of Norman Baron Talifor (Taylor) who lost his life at the Battle of Hastings or Selnac about 1064. , d. in Northhampton Co., VA, arrived 1654 to VA from England, moved 1671 in MD, property 11-04-1671 VA (He sold about 50 acres of land to William Turley on November 4, 1671, "Which is due to me for my transportation out of Virginia into Maryland".). He married Deborah Keachine, 11-03-1660 in Eastville, North Hampton Co., VA, b. Abt 1640 in VA. (a) Abraham Lawrence Taylor Jr. title: Jr., b. 1661 in Northhampton Co., VA, d. 07-10-1719 in Goodspread Plantation Baltimore, MD or Johnston Co., NC (He accumulated quite a large estate prior to his death. Then again as a landholder in the North side of Gunpowder Hundred in an August 1695 tax list.), will 1717 ( He made his son John Taylor executor of his will in 1717 and his son Abraham Taylor III and daughter Lettice Taylor Doddridge executor also included.). He married Jane Courkin, 1685 in Baltimore Co., MD. [1] John Taylor, b. in Baltimore Co., MD, d. in Craven Co., NC, moved aft 1720 in NC. [2] Abraham Lawrence Taylor III title: III, b. Abt 1685 in St. Johns Parish, Baltimore Co., MD, d. 12-1751 in New Bern, NC (Abraham died in 1751; his will was proven at the December court session of 1751, at which time he was surely deceased.), moved ca 1728 in NC, will 04-02-1751 in Johnston Co., NC (Moses Taylor & Abraham Taylor of Johnston Co. NC Will). There seems to have been another daughter married to George Marshall for he is referred to as Abraham's son-in-law in his will. She would be dead by this time in 1751. And even though Isaac Taylor is listed as son, he is not mentioned in the will, so either it is incorrect or he is deceased at this time. He married (1) Dinah White, 1708 in Baltimore Co., MD, b.
