Descendants of Robert Lusk Generation One 1. Robert Lusk, b. 1730, d. 11-27-1803. He married Mary Vance, b. 1735 in VA, d. 05-29-1841. Children: 2. i. Nancy Agnes Lusk b. 1753. 3. ii. Thomas Lusk b. 1760. Generation Two 2. Nancy Agnes Lusk, b. 1753 in Union District. SC, d. 1825 in Steen's Creek, Rankin Co., MS. She married William Hays Steen, married 1772, b. 1738 in Chester Co., PA (It has been said that he was born in Green's Farm, Coleraine, Antrim, Ulster, Ireland but there is proof now that he was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania. A will of John Steen written in 1749 in Chester Co, PA has been found where he names his unborn son as one of his heirs. Then in 1753 she and her new husband gave a financial accounting to the courts and they name those 4 sons plus William and at the time of their accounting they are living in Union District, SC. (Information from Mary A Carson Sarrels who has the documentation.)), (son of John Steen Sr. and Jane Moore) d. 1810 in Carroll Co., TN, military 09-1758 Revolutionary War (Robert enlisted in the Revolutionary Army on September, 1758, and was discharged May 12, 1780. He served in Captain William Smith's Company, John Thomas' Regiment and General Sumpter's Brigade. He was a Lieutenant of Horse in the Light Dragoons. Also served under Captain James Steen, Captain Gideon Smith, and Captain Robert Montgomery. William Steen served in the Revolutionary army and was taken prisoner by the British. He was rescued by Jacob Neely whose granddaughter, Margaret Ann Neely married Carroll Jeffries STEEN many years later. Carroll J. Steen was a grandson of William Steen. They were at that time livng in Rankin Co, MS. He moved from the Broad River area of South Carolina to the Western District of Tennesee, what is now Carroll County, Tennessee. The date of his death is uncertain as he is said to have wandered off from the migration party looking for stray cattle and was never seen again. Traders saw his horse some time later in the possession of Indians and it was presumed that he had been killed. He is listed on a Union District, South Carolina, deed dated 17 October 1803 and recorded 31 October 1803 (Union District, South Carolina, Deed Book H, pg 269) in which "William Steen and Agnes, his wife, and Robert Steen to Joseph Steen Sr. all of Union District for $176, (convey) 176 acres, part of a tract granted to John Steen, Sr., in June 1775 and conveyed by deed to John Steen, sr., and Martha, his wife, .". ). James Steen, b. 10-29-1781, d. 1843 in Lawrence Co., MS, buried in Fair River Cemetery, MS (Fair River Cemetery is located in MS, near the Lincoln and Lawrence Co. line.). He married Sarah Collins, married 02- 5-1809, b. 11- 1-1788, (daughter of Thomas S. Collins and Mary Robinson). Children: i. Melissa Steen, b. 03-22-1810. She married Samuel Prestridge. ii. Jamie Mullen. She married Emmett Little, married 01-28-1922, b. 04-02-1903, (son of L. Jefferson Little and Ella Armstrong). Generation Seven 14. Clarence Lackey Steen, b. 07-28-1896, d. 09-18-1968. He married Ellen Rebecca Little, married 10-12-1917, b. 02-03-1899, (daughter of Whitman H. Little and Beulah Bridges). 15. Stella Mae Smith, b. 08-08-1893 in Pearl River, Copiah Co., MS (Family lore says that she, at 4 years of age when her mother and 4 siblings were murdered, hid Barney the 8 month old baby in the clock and she hid between the mattresses. They were the only survivors. She d. 02-09-1974 in Simpson Co., MS, buried in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Bridgeport, Simpson Co., MS.
