	credit. T

He married (1) Jane E. Williamson, abt 1860 in Simpson Co., MS.

"The Berry's obtained a large house built of heart pine lumber. The house had 2 stories, with steps leading from the
front porch to the second floor. A large hallway separated three rooms. There were 2 chimneys, one in the big room
on the south end, the other doing double duty by serving 2 rooms. Jack Berry set aside 1 big room as the "honeymoon
suite" where 7 new brides stayed until they were able to set up housekeeping themselves. In the backyard was a
short back porch and the kitchen was in a seperate building. It is has been said that the Berry house was the only
one of its kind in the community (Bushtown). Jack was a successful provider, he even had the finest saddle horse around, which
was eventually called upon to take him to war.

				Children:

	 	  	i.	William Davis "Willie" Berry, b. 01-06-1862 in Bushtown, Simpson Co., MS. buried in Georgetown Cemetery,
				Copiah Co., MS.

In January 1862, Jack was home on leave as his wife, Jane was expecting their first child. In the early
morning hours of January 6,1862, Jane was in labor. They heard the horses, pigs, cows, and other animals
making a terrible noise but they were preoccupied with the child's birth and they were unable to check
on them. By daylight after the child's birth, Jack went outside to feed the livestock and found nothing,
not even the corn was left. They had been raided by Yankees.

Jane has a birth date of 1-1862 and the birth date for the first child of Mag Bishop has a date of 4-1862. Perhaps
one of their family could correct this.)

by an old iron for her to eat. The night before she died she requested branch water. Robert Berry (Sam T's son)
went down and retrieved it for her. Mag was staying in the house of Sam Berry her only son, along with his wife,
